For this Superhuman smoothie, we add 100% Cricket Protein to some of our favorite green veggies. Full of fiber and healthy fats, avocado also makes this smoothie thick and creamy—the smoothest of all smoothies! Two tablespoons of 100% Cricket Protein Powder adds as much protein as two eggs, plus calcium, potassium, iron and B12, all together with banana and dark leafy greens to get your day off to a great start!
We’re sure to keep frozen banana slices on hand (regularly slicing and freezing a tray of ripe banana slices for smoothies and baking—also great for teething superbabies!)--half a banana translates to about half a cup of frozen banana slices. We also love to add other ingredients we have in the kitchen—berries, cucumber, flax or hemp seeds, or even a little nut butter—to the base of this smoothie. The lime juice adds a bit of brightness and a kick of Vitamin C.
|1/2 large frozen banana||1 handful dark leafy greens (spinach, kale, or rainbow chard)--frozen is fine|
|1/4 medium ripe avocado||1/2-3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk|
|2 TBS 100% Cricket Protein Powder||juice of 1/2 a lime|
Add frozen banana, avocado, 100% Cricket Protein Powder, greens, almond milk, and lime juice along with any desired addition add-ins to a high-speed blender. Blend on high until creamy and smooth.
Adjust the thickness of the smoothie to your liking by adding more almond milk for a thinner consistency or more banana or avocado to thicken it up.
